Guide to visiting Beri Waterfall in Slovenia
Beri Waterfall is a lesser-known gem in the Soča Valley region of Slovenia.
We have lived and traveled in Slovenia for more than 5 years and we have only found this waterfall this summer.
So, if you are also looking for special places to visit in the Soča Valley, this article is for you. We’ll show you everything you need to know to visit Beri Waterfall.

Where is Beri Waterfall located
Beri is a beautiful 40-meter waterfall located in a village called Poljubinj which is near Tolmin, in the heart of the Soča Valley in Slovenia.
Here is the exact location on Google Maps to help you out.

How to get to Beri Waterfall?
Since the waterfall is located in a really small village, the easiest way to get there is if you will be traveling with a car or bike. You can technically walk from the center of Tolmin but it will be a 35min walk until the start of the trail.
If you will be coming with a car, you will have to park your vehicle in this parking lot. Parking is free but just pay attention because there is a natural water source on the side – don’t close access to it because the village people come to fill out water from here.
Getting to the parking lot may seem a bit sketchy like you are almost going into someone’s home. But don’t worry, just follow the road on the Maps and you will get there. The parking is at the end of the road.

The trail to Beri Waterfall
The trail to Beri Waterfall starts just across the river from the parking lot.
It is a short hike that will take you between 30-40 min and it is 1.5km long each way. There aren’t many signs along the way but there is no need for them, actually. The path is very clear and straightforward.
If you are ever in doubt about the path, just follow the red and white signs on the trees.
On the way, you will cross the river once more through the stones, and then a second time through a small wooden bridge. After this bridge, it is only 5 min until you reach the fall.
The view is beautiful and really untouched. What I love the most about Beri Waterfall is that it is super quiet. We were there in the middle of July and we only met two other people.

About Beri Waterfall
Beri technically consists of two different falls, the main one that is 25 meters and an upper smaller one that is 15 meters, summing up a total of 40 meters.
You can technically visit Beri Waterfall at any time because there is no entrance/exit control. I recommend coming in the morning for the best light.
The hike to Beri Waterfall is quite fresh because it is mostly through the forest, which makes it a great place to visit even during a hot summer day.
Can you swim at Beri Waterfall?
There were no signs at the spot forbidding visitors to swim, but the waterfall itself is not very good for swimming.
The water flow can be quite strong and intense, and the pool formed is small because it immediately flows into the river.
If you want to swim, the best thing to do is go for a river dip by the parking lot or go to a larger pool in the Soča River.
