Hello, I am Fe!

Fe, which is short for Fernanda, is the Brazilian half of Mauka. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, she was always passionate about going places that felt different from home.
After having lived in Canada, the UK, and the Netherlands, she found herself setting up base in Slovenia, where she later met Edo.

Hey there, I am Edo

Edo, which is short for Edin, is the Slovenian half of Mauka. Edo is originally from the small town of Novo Mesto, in the southern part of Slovenia.
Edo is very outgoing and can make friends everywhere he goes. After exploring some of Europe on his own, he met Fe who helped him broaden his travel horizons.

How Mauka was born

A bit more about us

Ever since we got together, we knew travel was going to play a big part in our lives – after all, to visit Fe’s family, we always have to travel halfway around the world from Europe to South America. But we quickly realized that travel was much more than that.

We truly love exploring and going outside. We live in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, which means that we are only 1 hour away from the mountains, the seaside, stunning lakes, and many more natural beauties. Benefitting from the fact that we are located in the heart of Europe, we started traveling together to neighboring countries, using up weekends and making the most of our free time.

Why we created Mauka

Mauka is a place where we get to share what we do and hopefully inspire you, on the other side of the screen, to go out and explore as well! We put together our itineraries, photos, notes… everything we can from our adventures so we can help you on your own journey.

We spend a lot of time researching, figuring out the best itineraries, and putting it all together in hopes that we can help make things a little bit easier for your own trip.
