Travel resources to plan the best trip
After a lifetime of traveling and making many mistakes ourselves, we have learned a few tips and tricks on how to plan a trip effectively and on budget. We have tried many different travel companies and websites – some that we love and others that we hate. You don’t need to make the same mistakes as us, so this is why we have put together this list of travel resources.
These are the companies and websites we always use when planning our own trips. We have gathered every aspect of travel planning to make sure you are covered. You can be sure that this list is always up to date. We are always trying new things and apps and if there is any new travel resource that we have tried, verified, and loved, we will definitely add it here for you.

FLIGHTS
Skyscanner
Whenever we decide to go anywhere, the first thing we do is hop on Skyscanner to check the flight deals. Skyscanner is the most comprehensive flight website and we love that they allow us to check flights to “Anywhere” so we see what is cheaper.
Google Flights
Google Flights is great to be used in combination with Skyscanner as they sometimes have different flight deals so it is good to check both and compare the results. Google Flights is also very easy to use.

TRANSPORTATION
Rome2Rio
Rome2Rio is the best website for checking how to get from point A to point B. It is a free resource that will give you all the transport options and the companies that operate that specific bus or train line. This makes a LOT when figuring out the logistics of your trip.
Omio
For transport tickets for buses and trains, we always have the options available at Omio because the platform is very easy to use and we know that they only sell tickets from reputable brands. Buying train or bus tickets on local websites is not always easy, so Omio is a lifesaver.
DiscoverCars
If you prefer to rent a car instead (as we often do), you can get a quote almost anywhere using Discover Cars. This website gathers internationally renowned brands like Sixt and Europcar, and also local companies from the country you will be visiting.
12GO
12Go is one of the best websites for booking buses, trains, and ferries across Asia. It shows all available routes, prices, and companies in one place, making it simple to compare options and buy tickets in advance. Perfect for travelers who want reliable transport.

ACCOMMODATION
Booking.com
The number one platform for hotels and apartments is definitely Booking.com. They have places available anywhere in the world! Our favorite thing about the platform is that they have progressive discounts the more bookings you make.
Agoda
A great alternative for checking hotel deals around the world. Even though the options available on Booking and Agoda are similar, they often have different prices so it is very useful to compare both so you can get the best deals.
Airbnb
A great alternative for checking hotel deals around the world. Even though the options available on Booking and Agoda are similar, they often have different prices so it is very useful to compare both so you can get the best deals.

ENTERTAINMENT
GetYourGuide
This is the platform we mostly use for checking tours around the world. Get Your Guide offers a very easy way of booking tours and attractions with locals, which is very hard to arrange by yourself if you don’t have the right connections.
Viator
Another great option for finding the perfect tour is wherever you will be going. Viator has amazing tour options in the USA especially, but they also have options available in many other destinations around the world.
Klook
Klook is another reliable platform you can use for buying tours and tickets wherever you go. They are a big travel platform in Asia especially, so if you are planning a trip to any Asian country, make sure you check their options.
Trip Advisor
The number one platform for checking reviews on attractions, restaurants, locations, and tours. We use Trip Advisor mostly when looking for restaurants, but many people also use the forum feature to ask questions when planning their trip.

OTHER USEFUL RESOURCES
Airalo
Buying a SIM card for your trip no longer has to be a hassle. Using Airalo’s eSIM cards is one of our favorite travel hacks. You buy the eSIM before your trip, activate it, and have the internet working as soon as you land.
Nomad
This is another great website for checking eSIM options to stay connected during your trip. It is very useful to compare the options available at Airalo and Nomad as they sometimes work with different providers and offer different deals.
SafetyWing
Traveling without good travel insurance is a big no-go, we all know that. SafetyWing is the company we trust with our travel insurance coverage as they have great plans, available almost anywhere.
Revolut
Using a bank that doesn’t charge you any monthly fees, and that has zero fees on withdrawing is a must for any cost-conscious traveler. We have been using Revoult for a long time now and are happy to recommend it.
